Chris Norton : Formerly paralyzed football player pulls off TWO stunners at graduation

Chris Norton, A former Iowa college football player who was told he would probably never walk again after an injury left him paralyzed five years ago stood up and walked across the stage at graduation.

Chris Norton defied the odds every step of the way, inspiring others with his determination and faith that he would overcome his injuries. He undertook over four years of intense, daily therapy sessions.

Last year, he set himself the goal of walking across the stage at graduation. He worked really hard to make that happen.

‘I really want to show everyone how far I’ve come and just that you can set big goals for yourself and you’ve just got to go out there and make it happen,’ he says.

Yesterday, to a standing ovation and cheers from his classmates, an emotional Chris achieved his goal, with Emily at his side.

‘I’m more thankful and appreciative of things now than I was before my injury,’ Chris says. ‘You realise how precious even the slightest movement is and that independence you can get and the people around you.’
