Carly Fiorina wants you to look at her face. Her campaign released a new video, “Faces,” hitting back at Donald Trump’s recent comments on her appearance in which he said “Look at that face!” and “Would anyone vote for that?”
The ad, from CARLY for America, embraces comments Trump made about Fiorina’s face.
“Ladies, look at this face. And look at all of your faces,” Fiorina says as it cuts to smiling women.
“The face of leadership. The face of leadership in our party — the party of women’s suffrage,” she says.
“Ladies, note to Democrat party: We are not a special interest group. We are the majority of the nation,” Fiorina says.
In a Rolling Stone profile piece published last week, Trump, the GOP’s leading presidential candidate, drew scrutiny when he quipped about Fiorina’s face.
“Look at that face! Would anyone vote for that? Can you imagine that, the face of our next president?!” Trump said.
“I mean, she’s a woman, and I’m not s’posedta say bad things, but really, folks, come on. Are we serious?” he added.
The two will get a chance to meet face-to-face Wednesday night during the second Republican presidential debate on CNN at 8 p.m. ET.
Fiorina made the cut for the prime time debate thanks to a last-minute criteria amendment made by CNN. According to the CNN polling average, Fiorina is tied in seventh place with former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee with 4.4 percent support.
Trump is leading the field 27.8 percent support.
