Carlos Carrasco : Indians pitcher hit in head by line drive - Watch

Cleveland Indians pitcher Carlos Carrasco left Tuesday’s game after being struck in the head with a line drive in the first inning.

Carrasco was taken off the field on a cart and examined, with the Indians announcing during the game that he had sustained a jaw contusion, but that there were no signs of a concussion or head injury.

Carrasco was able to get to his feet and walk to the cart without assistance. He appeared to deflect Cabrera’s liner with his glove and possibly his right hand.

Though the injury does not appear to be serious, it was a scary moment.

Carrasco went down immediately after being hit on the second batter of the game, laying face-first and motionless in front of the mound. As teammates and medical personnel attended to him, Carrasco began to move his legs. He held the side of his face as he left the field.
