Caitlyn Jenner, Candis Cayne’s close friend and date to the ESPY Awards, is a key figure in her life, but the two are not a romantic item.

Star Magazine reported that the two were a couple. However, an insider close to Candis told Us that the news is just a “ridiculous” rumor.

“What, is Candis suddenly a lesbian now?” the source told the publication. “Candis is currently single but is only interested in men, and Caitlyn is a woman.” Moreover, another insider close to Caitlyn confirmed that the two are not dating.

Meanwhile, the 65-year-old former Olympian accepted the Arthur Ashe Courage Award on Wednesday. This year’s ESPYS was held at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles.

Caitlyn had her very own cheering section composed of members of the Kardashian and Jenner clan. She was introduced by Abby Wambach – a two-time Olympic gold medalist soccer player.

“I never saw Bruce Jenner compete in the Olympic Games, I got to know the name being a sports fan,” Abby said. Too, an introductory video which featured Caitlyn in her mansion in Malibu was flashed on the screen.

After the video ended, Caitlyn was greeted by a standing ovation. She sported a gorgeous, form-fitting Versace white gown.

“It seems like every time we turn around in life, I’m putting myself in high-pressure situations. But I’ve never felt more pressure in my life than I have over the last couple of months,” the “I Am Cait” star said. “Picking out this outfit… but next, the Fashion Police. Please be kind on me, I’m new at this!”

She even revealed that she never met a trans person. She also shared how powerful the spotlight is. “Sometimes it gets overwhelming, but with attention, there comes responsibility,” she stated. “How you conduct your lives, what you say, what you do, is absorbed by millions of people. Especially the right people… To tell my story the right way.”

She also called the attention to the unforgiving treatment of the trans community. She told the audience that her mission now is to accept people for who they are.

Moreover, Caitlyn called attention to her family who were in the audience at that time. Getting emotional, she said that she never wanted to hurt anyone else.

“My family and my kids: I always wanted my children to be proud of their dad. You guys have given so much back to me…” she said. “I’m so grateful to have all of you in my life, thank you.”

Caitlyn came to the star-studded athletic awards show with her three stepdaughters: Kourtney Kardashian, Kim and Khloe. Too, her biological children: Kylie, Kendall, Brody, Brandon, Burt and Casey joined her at the event. Her mother Esther Jenner was also sighted in the event.

The final moments of Caitlyn’s speech were most moving. She told the crowd that she doesn’t really care if someone will makes jokes, doubts her intentions, calls her names and bully her. “Because the reality is, I can take it,” she said.

“We’re all different. That’s not a bad thing. That’s a good thing,” she added, calling the attention of those without her voice. “And while it may not easy to get past the things you [don’t always] understand, I want to prove that it is absolutely possible if we only do it together.”

To recall, Caitlyn told her followers that she was really looking forward to the big event. She event tweeted about the news. “What the hell am I going to wear?” she wrote.

A source told Us that the reality star was eagerly anticipating the awards after her debut as a transgender woman on the July 2015 cover issue of Vanity Fair. “Caitlyn’s excited to be a part of the ESPYS and to be getting the award,” the source revealed to the publication. “She’s very proud and confident and seemed very obviously comfortable in her own skin.”
