Bulgarian player banned for 10 games after he threw a bottle at the referee

Player unhappy with official’s performance takes things too far.

Lokomotiv Plovdiv defender Diyan Moldovanov has been banned for 10 games after he tried to hit a referee with a bottle.

The 29-year-old centre-half, who had already been substituted, was shown a red card after he ran onto the pitch to confront Stanislav Stavrov at the end of his side’s 1-1 draw at home to Cherno More on Saturday.

He threw a bottle at the official and verbally abused him as team-mates attempted to calm him down.
