Brooklyn Lynn Lilly Found : Missing 2-year-old Tawas City girl found alive

Brooklyn Lynn Lilly Found safe after spending 20 hours lost in a dark and cold woods.

Neighbours and family feared she had been abducted.

Police and firefighters scoured the area on foot and from the air in a search that was hampered by poor weather.

On Thursday at noon, a German shepherd police dog found Brooklyn in the woods near a creek.

She had a scrape to her nose, blisters on her feet and was missing a shoe.

But despite the wet and cold, she flashed a smile at her rescuers.

Jeffery Seyfried, assistant chief of Tawas City Fire Department, took a photo of the joyful child.

He told the Bay City Times: “It was a rough night, but the moment that she was found was something special.

“She was bundled up in her jacket and when the team walked up to her, she started giggling.

“She actually told one of the guys that she loved it in the woods.”

Alecia Cook, Brooklyn’s aunt, said Wednesday night had been a terrible one for the family.

“Nobody slept,” she told WNEM. “I mean just constantly worried waiting for that phone call that we found her. This is awesome.”
