NASCAR chairman and CEO Brian France, who pulled a banquet from a Donald Trump-owned resort last year, endorsed Trump for president at a rally Monday that also included a few NASCAR drivers on stage.
Brian France’s endorsement of Donald Trump sure will do wonders to engage a more diverse fan base beyond those stereotypical images of beer-swigging fanatics waving Confederate flags.
Brian France’s endorsement of Donald Trump sure will do wonders to entice more high-end brand sponsorship.
Since who wouldn’t want to be associated with a crass, juvenile, egomaniacal class clown who has turned the 2016 Presidential campaign into a frightening freak show? It started out rather humorous. Now it is not. Trump is the presumptive GOP nominee.
“He wins with his family,” France said of Trump on the eve of the Super Tuesday primary. “Any of his children, you’d be proud of have them as part of your family. That’s how I judge a winner, how somebody manages their family and raises their family.”
David Duke and Brian France. What a week for #Trump16!
France’s endorsement of Trump was called a “private personal decision” by a NASCAR spokesperson, reiterating that it was not a NASCAR endorsement.
The France family is the NASCAR brand. Bill France, Sr. founded NASCAR in 1948 and now his grandson Brian is in charge as chairman and CEO.
Even if that wasn’t the case, would a Roger Goodell endorsement of Trump not reflect on the NFL? Would an Adam Silver endorsement of Trump not reflect on the NBA?
And he “wins with family?”
Trump is twice-divorced. His current wife, Melania, has sexy suggestive pictures scattered all over the Internet. Yay family values!
Trump also received the endorsement of retired driver Bill Elliott, son Chase Elliott, who drives for Hendrick Motorsports, Ryan Newman, who drives for Richard Childress Racing and David Ragan, who drives for BK Racing. But these are individuals, not the head of a company making an eye-opening endorsement.
“I am proud to receive the endorsement of such an iconic brand and a quality person such as Brian,” Trump said. “Brian has a wonderful family and is an incredibly successful business person. I have great respect for Brian and I am grateful for his support and that of Bill Elliott, one of the best drivers in history, and active stock car racers, including his son Chase Elliott, Ryan Newman and David Lee Ragan.”
All together now, maybe all France and Trump want to do is make NASCAR great again.
