A newborn baby was left on the front porch of a home in Garland County on Monday, the Garland County sheriff’s office reported.
Deputies say a homeowner found the baby lying on their porch, wrapped in a blanket. The GCSO says it appeared the infant was no more than a few hours old.
The baby, which appeared to be in good health, was first taken to St. Vincent’s in Hot Springs but then transferred to Arkansas Children’s Hospital for further examination and observation.
Investigators are working to identify and locate the child’s mother and anyone else who may have information about the case.
Anyone with information about the baby is asked to call the sheriff’s office at (501) 622-3690 or the anonymous hotline at (501) 622-3674.
