Arrest in womb-cutting: Pregnant woman has baby cut out of womb whilst shopping for baby clothes

In a horrific incident, a woman in the US allegedly stabbed a pregnant woman in the stomach and removed her unborn baby from the womb when the expectant mother had gone to her house to buy baby clothes advertised online.

The 34-year-old accused, who has been arrested, allegedly posted an online advertisement offering baby clothes to sell, but when the 26-year-old victim, who was seven months pregnant, arrived at the given address at Longmont in Colorado yesterday she was beaten and stabbed.

“Officers arrived on scene and could hear a female calling for help inside the home. Officers entered the home and located a female who had been beaten and stabbed in the stomach,” a statement from Longmont Police said.

“It was later learned, the female was pregnant and her baby had been removed. The victim was transported to the Longmont United Hospital where she underwent surgery and is expected to recover.”

The baby did not survive.

Longmont police Cmdr. Jeff Satur said the suspect later arrived at the hospital with the dead baby and told staff she had suffered a miscarriage.

She was arrested at the hospital on suspicion of attempted first-degree murder, first-degree assault and child abuse-knowingly and recklessly resulting in death.
