Aqib Talib suspended one game for eye gouge - Watch

The NFL made it clear that its not going to tolerate eye poking. The league announced on Monday that Broncos cornerback Aqib Talib has been suspended one game for the eye gouge he gave to Colts tight end Dwayne Allen on Sunday.

Talib is appealing the suspension. He will have expedited appeal rights to an arbitrator jointly hired by NFL and NFLPA, and a decision likely will come by Wednesday.

The Broncos play the Chiefs next Sunday.

Broncos Coach Gary Kubiak told reporters Monday that he doesn’t believe Talib intentionally poked Allen in the eye.

Talib was 10-12 yards away when Allen and Broncos linebacker Von Miller traded shoves after a play. Talib came over and stuck two fingers inside Allen’s facemask. After the game, Talib called it “an honest mistake.”
