Amanda Blackburn: Funeral for pastor's slain wife draws crowd of 2000

Over 2,000 people reportedly attended the funeral of a pregnant pastor’s “Amanda Blackburn” wife who was recently murdered during a home invasion.

Police say she was fatally shot during a home invasion last Tuesday morning. She was 12 weeks pregnant.

Her one-year-old son was also home at the time, but he was not injured.

Amanda’s husband, pastor Davey Blackburn, found her.

“Some people have funerals, and then some people have celebrations. In the 28 years that she was with us, Amanda gave us a lot to celebrate,” Pastor Perry Noble said during the services.

The memorial was focused on a young life taken too soon.

Police have called on the public to give them any information that can help identify the suspects.

Amanda Blackburn’s father, Phil Byars, is the lead pastor at the First Baptist Church of Elkhart.
