Acrobat Vicky Garcia suffered only bruises after plummeting to the ground during a high-flying stunt Thursday at a circus performance in Houston.

The fall during the Circo Hermanos Vazquez show in Houston on Thursday was caught on video. The footage shows a female performer dangling below a rocket which is circling overhead when she comes crashing down during the act.

“The performer involved in the accident received immediate medical attention and was transported to a local hospital for observation as a precautionary measure,” Circo Hermanos Vazquez said in a statement sent to The Post on Monday. “The injury was not considered life-threatening and resulted in some bruising.”

ABC News reported that the injured performer, Vicky Garcia, fell about 25 feet. She has already been given the okay to return to the act, according to KTRK.

“It was a human error. These things happen at the circus,” Lorena Vignaud, general manager of Circo Hermanos Vazquez, told the Houston ABC affiliate. “It’s a live performance and that is what a lot of people don’t understand. Like balancing acts, like the strong men acts, all those kinds of acts, they have a risk. This act was one of the ones that was the highest risk of them all.”

In its statement, the circus said that an internal investigation found that the accident was caused by “the failure of the performers to properly latch a safety cord during the routine.”

“Determining the cause is essential to identifying the next steps in the process of learning from this incident and of ensuring the safety of Circo Hermanos Vazquez’ guests, performers and staff,” the statement continued. “The safety of our guests, performers and staff is , our primary and highest priority.”
